Calves are most efficient at converting feed when they are young. As a result we are trying to capitalise on this energy efficiency when calves are young. The ability to use feed efficiently for growth declines with age It is at its peak during the milk feeding period. As a result a calf can double its birthweight in the first three months of life, but it takes another nine months before they double their weight again.

Supreme Calf Starter

  • For optimum thrive and rumen development the aim should be to get calves consuming concentrates as soon as possible. This can best be achieved by offering calves access to fresh water, fresh coarse calf starter and fibre (Straw/Hay) from 3 days of age. Our calf starter is highly palatable containing toasted raw materials and a high spec vitamin and mineral package. Ideal to get rumen development started in young calves.

Heifer Rearer Nut 19%

  • High energy (UFL), high protein (PDI) nut ideally suited to growing heifers from 9 months to calving. Aiming for heifers to achieve puberty (45% mature liveweight) one to two months pre-mating and continued growth to mating (60% mature liveweight at 15 months) to improve conception rates. After mating up to calving looking to gain weight over this year targeting 90% of mature liveweight at 24 months. Body condition reflects how well an animal has been fed for the last 6-8 weeks whereas weight relative to liveweight targets is how well the heifer has been fed over her life
